แต่ยังโชคดีที่บริเวณฝั่งตะวันออกของ ต.มะขาม ปริมาณน้ำฝนในพื้นที่ยังมีไม่มาก จึงทำให้แม่น้ำจันทบุรี ยังสามารถรองรับปริมาณน้ำที่หลากลงมาได้

ขณะที่หัวหน้าอุทยานแห่งชาติเขาคิชฌกูฏ เผยถึงสถานการณ์​น้ำในน้ำตกกระทิง และน้ำตกคลองไพบูลย์ ขณะนี้ยังไม่น่าเป็นห่วงและหากในวันที่ 16 ก.ย.นี้ มีฝนตกต่อเนื่องในพื้นที่อาจจะเกิดอันตรายต่อประชาชนที่อาศัยอยู่บริเวณใกล้เคียงได้

แต่อย่างไรก็ดี หน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องในพื้นที่ได้มีการแจ้งเตือนชาวบ้านให้ระวังอันตรายจากฝนตกหนักเป็นระยะ หลังพบว่ามีพื้นที่การเกษตรของชาวบ้านเริ่มได้รับความเสียหายจากน้ำป่าไหลหลาก
